Worried that the current airplane terminal was situated in a zone with potential for urban development, which would physically trim it in on all sides, the administration hence chose in 1975 to assemble another air terminal at the eastern tip of the primary island at Changi, at the current site ofChangi Air Base, where the new air terminal would be effectively expandable through area recovery. Nonetheless, as there was an expansion in movement, the air terminal still must be extended around then. Also, planes could fly over the ocean, maintaining a strategic distance from commotion contamination issues inside local locations like those at Paya Lebar and dodging unfortunate results on the ground in case of an air disaster. The air terminal in Paya Lebar was in this manner changed over for military use as the Paya Lebar Air Base.
After Singaporean powers chose to manufacture another airplane terminal, Singaporean government dispatched an assessment group to Taiwan in 1979, watching and taking in the configuration of recently assembled Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Singaporean staff had promptly received Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport’s configuration – single terminal with encompassing roadways, and two runways aside the terminal, making the Changi Airport at first seem to be indistinguishable to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport
