Primary purpose of job
In this role you will support the development of staff across QatarEnergy by helping build technical and functional capability
at Graduate, Professional and Leadership levels. Partnering with senior Business Leaders, Subject Matter Experts, and
Human Capital colleagues, you will help to define and roll out Competency Frameworks, Learning Programmes (leveraging
the 70/20/10 model), and Communities of practice. You’ll lead and deliver projects across the team to improve our
operational delivery and increase our service portfolio. As part of a department of Graduate, Professional and Leadership
Advisors (PDA’s) you’ll help our team continuously improve to grow Capability across QatarEnergy
Experience & Skills
As a senior Learning and Development Professional, you have substantial functional expertise combined with wide
experience working in the Energy business.
You have worked on all aspects of Learning & Development, and have demonstrated this through operational delivery,
continuous improvement, and project management across the 70/20/10 spectrum. Examples include Competency definition
and development, Community startup and management, and learning portfolio management. You are comfortable with
learning delivery, facilitation, and Data & Analytics. You can support staff at all levels and are flexible to adapt to the
balance of business and Human Capital needs.
This role will recognise your experience and give you the opportunity to invest and give back to others as they build their
own capability with your support. In this role you will be willing to grow and develop the scope as the business needs
change and are able to work all the way from strategic challenges with senior stakeholders to delivery of detailed
• Degree (or equivalent) educated.
• Wide expertise in Learning & Development, preferably in the Energy Industry
• Although this role is an individual contributor, it requires executive presence and interface skills to support senior
stakeholders in the business lines and within Human Capital.
• Flexibility to lead and deliver multiple projects, and the ability to switch rapidly between high level and operational work.
• Willing to work in Doha full-time for 3-5 years to build their network and deliver for the long term.
